At Speech Outreach we are dedicated to empowering children and adolescents to become confident, capable communicators and readers.
Through evidence-based, individualized assessment and therapy, we address language and literacy challenges with patience, compassion, expertise, and a commitment to bridge educational gaps, build confidence, and unlock each learner’s full potential.
At Speech Outreach, we believe every child’s learning journey is unique. That’s why our therapy is personalized, evidence-based, and rooted in the science of reading and language development. We begin with a thorough evaluation to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style. From there, we design an individualized Plan of Care that targets the foundational skills they need to succeed in school—and beyond.
Our sessions are interactive, engaging, and built around real-world literacy tasks, ensuring skills learned in therapy carry over to the classroom and everyday life. We work closely with families and educators, providing tools and strategies to support progress beyond our sessions.

Hi, I’m Karla, founder of Speech Outreach, LLC. I’m 35 years old and have dedicated my career to helping children with language and literacy challenges unlock their full potential. Before becoming a speech-language pathologist, I spent eight years as a pediatric speech-language pathology assistant, working in private school settings, private practices, and PPEC programs with medically fragile children.
My passion for language and literacy runs deep—both professionally and personally. My own son was misdiagnosed for years with a general language delay and struggled with reading until he was finally diagnosed with dyslexia. Once he received the right support, everything changed—his confidence grew, and he began to thrive academically. His journey inspired me to focus my work on helping children who are misdiagnosed, undiagnosed, or slipping through the educational cracks.
Born and raised in Miami, I’m deeply committed to the success of students in the South Florida community. I believe every child deserves the chance to become a confident communicator and a successful reader, and I’m honored to be part of that journey.
